Lesson Plans for Teachers

The lessons in Preservation Utah's teacher guides use historic buildings as springboards for exploring a variety of topics in Utah history and architecture. Use our teacher's guides to build a whole unit around your field trip to a landmark building or to augment an existing unit with an examination of Utah's historic architecture. The lessons utilize a variety of primary historic resources that help students develop critical thinking skills and promote literacy through social studies. Each lesson also supports objectives in the Utah Core Curriculum. You can preview and download the teacher's guides below.
