Modernism on South Temple Street

Modernism on South Temple Street Preservation Utah

Preservation Utah and Salt Lake Modern are excited to announce our new tour Modernism on South Temple Street. Watch the tour launch and conversation with the author, Bim Oliver, as we discuss Modernism not only on South Temple, but as an architectural style and its influences. During this one hour discussion, we encourage participants to come with questions and to leave with a new appreciation and perspective on the value of modernism within architecture and in Utah.

Bim Oliver researches, writes, and lectures about architecture. His publications include the books South Temple Street Landmarks: Salt Lake City’s First Historic District (found at both The King's English and Weller Book Works) and Air Mail Outpost to International Hub: The Salt Lake City Airport's 100-Year Evolution, as well as articles on Utah architecture in various local and national periodicals. In addition, Bim has made presentations about Utah architecture for a diversity of audiences and has taught architecture classes for the Osher program at the University of Utah.

The self guided tour is now available! Find Modernism on South Temple Street here and make sure to browse our other self-guided tours.
